ID 3211 Internship: Perspectives on Work (4 credits)
Interested
in obtaining credit for your internship? This class is for students
doing a 10-hour per week internship throughout the semester. Key goals
of the class include providing structure to the student's internship
experience through setting goals and expectations for the internship
with their site supervisor.
Another goal is to assist
students in thinking critically about their experience and how their
experience provides them with invaluable insights about themselves, the
world of work, and how to successfully transfer their experience, good
or bad, to a future internship or full-time job.
Class
assignments are designed to assist students to connect with people,
beyond their supervisor, and to take what they are learning, including
self-assessments and journaling, to advance their career development.
A
final goal is that students will be able to use this information to
begin a career after graduation that is both rewarding and a good fit.
