CLA Career Explorations House

"Exploration House is a great way to introduce you to college and professional life." -- Career Exploration House Participant
Career Explorations House, a subdivision of Residential College, is a program for incoming freshman in the College of Liberal Arts. The program is geared toward students who
would like to learn more about a career they're considering, or those
who are undecided about a major or career path. The Career Explorations House will provide hands-on guidance to students about careers, and about gaining experience through on-campus or off-campus involvement.
During the Fall semester, Career Explorations House students will be enrolled together in the ID 1201 class. This two-credit course helps students explore majors and career options while they live together in the same community. Students are in a supportive learning environment where they learn from one another. Through experiences in and out of the classroom, students work toward the goal of finding a career that suits their unique values, interests, abilities and personality. Students also become familiar with career-related resources, and learn the basics of career management.
Residents in the program also meet successful career professionals who will help them understand various occupations and industries. These speakers change annually and are selected based on student interests.
Career Explorations House helps you learn more about yourself, majors, and career paths in a supportive, friendly environment. You're welcome to be part of it!
