Career Office Resource Room

Visit the Resource Room of our 135 Johnston Hall office [map].

HOURS (during the school year): The Johnston Resource Room is open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Stop by anytime during those hours to browse on your own or get personal assistance.
SUMMER HOURS: The Resource Room is open the same hours (M-F, 8-4:30), but personal assistance is only available between 10 and 4. (From 8 and 10, and 4 to 4:30, you can still stop by to browse on your own, or to set up an appointment.)

What you can do at our Resource Room: Browse our many materials that help you explore majors, careers, grad school options, and more. Or look through our materials focused on the job search, resumes, interviews, and preparing to transition from student to working professional.

Browse on your own or get individual guidance. We have a well-trained staff of Peer Advisors who will guide you to valuable resources, or help you schedule an appointment with one of our professional career counselors.

Our Resource Room has books and handouts on subjects such as:
  • Exploring and choosing a major
  • Job-search techniques: These cover resumes, cover letters, interviewing, networking and much more.
  • Internships: Why you should get one, how to find one, and how to get the most out of it.
  • Graduate schools (exploring and applying)
  • Other post-college opportunities
  • Diversity issues related to careers
