Ways to Volunteer
We need YOU! From being a guest speaker in a career class to volunteering at one of our events, employers, alumni, parents and friends of the University are important resources for liberal arts students.

Classroom and Event Presenters
Be a speaker in one of our career development courses or at an event. This may include discussing your career, providing advice on resumes and job searching or giving tips on how students can make the best of their college and other experiences.
Mock Interviews
Assist with mock interviews in a career class or in the Career Center. By facilitating mock interviews with CLA students, you can help prepare graduating seniors for on-campus interviews or other full time interviews.
Panelists
Sit on a panel with other professionals with your major in a "What Can I do with a Major in ___?" workshop. During this two-hour time commitment, you share information about your current line of work, path to get there, and answer students' questions.
Informational Interviews
Be on a list of contacts willing to do an informational interview with a student exploring career options. During a 30-45 meeting, a student would ask you questions about your career to determine if this line of work is a good fit for them. This can be done via email or telephone.
Job Shadows
Be on a list of contacts willing to have a student job shadow you for a day. During a job shadow, the student would have an opportunity to see your line of work first hand, ask questions, and meet other individuals within your organization to determine if this line of work is a good fit for them.
Mentoring Opportunities
Participate in the CLA Mentor Program.
