Advise pre-journalism students on the process of becoming a journalism major, what the major can offer you, assist at transfer student orientation, assist in the application process, run the SJMC mentoring program, write and manage the SJMC student listserv, manage all major/minor files, manage department database, delegate projects and work to our student workers.

Psychology = understanding how people work, how to problem-solve, how to listen and get people to talk, etc.

What advice do you have for current students?
Networking is everything!! AND do not stress over which major to choose...just make sure its something you enjoy and that offers you skills that are transferable to jobs that you desire.
