Current Job Title: Director of Course Rating
Organization: Southern California Golf Association
Other job titles you have held:

Director of Junior Golf PGA Metropolitan Section
Brief description of your job:
Provide all golf courses in the Southern California region with a course rating and slope rating. The position includes a lot of calculations, public relations, and playing golf.
What skills from your degree are you using in your current work?
My BIS background allowed me to focus on a couple different topics of interest. History and Business. Although I have used the business background in my career, I believe more than anything, BIS taught me to think outside the general area. Create your own direction and find your own interests.
What advice do you have for current students?
List as many career choices that interest you then spend a day or a week with someone in that field watching and observing what they do. You may find out it isn't what you envisioned or perhaps you find a different field within that arena that appeals to you even more.
Ask yourself where you want to be in ten years. Make the necessary steps to reach that goal.
