I work with CLA students around career related issues. I teach classes, conduct one-on-one appointments, coordinate our internship grant program, give workshops and presentations.

How have you found these positions?
Internet job boards that specialize in postings within my field, networking.

What skills from your degree do you use in your current work?
Counseling and interpersonal communication, creativity, information analysis, writing and editing, diplomacy.

What advice do you have for current students?
Get to know your professors... YOU will need to initiate this relationship! Go to office hours, invite them out to lunch or coffee. Get involved in research work with your professors if you are even considering graduate school. Make the most of internship and volunteer opportunities, you need to get involved outside of school if you want to be competitive post graduation. Meet others who share your interests, get involved in student and professional organizations. Use your career services office, it is a great resource! Study abroad even if you think you can't afford it! Have fun!
