My primary emphasis is teaching students how to become effective teachers of English in urban secondary schools. I also serve as a consultant to an urban school district on the influences of ace and social class in education. I get to teach, read, and write a lot.

Determined to teach high school in my community, I kept hounding them until an opening appeared. I also attempted to make myself the most attractive candidate long before the position existed.
