Appeals Referre for Department of Human Services

Name: Julie Stenberg Zeidel

Major: Speech‑Communications

Law School: Univ. of MN

Description of your job: Appeals Referee for department of human services. Similar to administrative law judge, for welfare cases.

Do you have any advice for students who are considering going to the same law school you did? Minnesota is a tough job market

What does a typical day look like for you as a lawyer? Manage case load, hold hearings, research issues, write decisions, sheduling issues.

Do you have any final advice? stick with it if you really want to go to law school. The degree is very flexible and can be used in a number of ways, though you may have difficulty getting that first job (and getting an ideal job).
